Nepal is a beautiful country filled with interesting legends and cultures. Many visitors come here to explore the various facets of the Buddhist faith. There is certainly no shortage of temples and shrines to visit and religion makes up a large facet of the country’s cultural and historical legacy.
If you’re traveling near the Nepal/India border and you need somewhere to spend a night, the city of Birganj would definitely be your best choice. While small in comparison to other cities, Birganj is the biggest town in southern Nepal’s Parsa District. It’s location on the edge of the country has given it quite a bit of distinction as a portal town between the two countries.
Never in the history of Nepal had any aircraft been designed, built and flown in the country. So when two Pulchowk Engineering Campus students began to think about what their final year project would be for their academic exams, the idea of designing and building an aircraft came to mind. Ganesh Ram Sinkemana and Bikash Parajuli established the Danfe Aircraft Fabrication Group and enlisted the help of six other students, namely Rabindra Shrestha, Ramesh Ranabhat, Anil Maharjan, Prasant Malla, Dipesh Poudel and Baburam Kharel.
Whilst exploring ancient cities and regions, one learns much about the history of the location, how it was established, why a certain culture is dominant and how the past has shaped the present. Mithila was originally located in what was once Ancient India. Although the Mithila region spreads over India, Nepal and Bihar, it has been determined that the city of Mithila itself was what is known as Janakpur today. Many traditions and rare cultural gems still remain, even though the borders, population and rulers might have changed.
